Senior Minister, Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works and Transport, recently held a bilateral meeting on improving cross-border transportation between Cambodia and Vietnam, saying that Vietnam has been studying projects to connect highways and roads. “Cambodia has been building, expanding and modernizing transport infrastructure, both land, water and port, to connect Cambodia’s main trade poles to the border,” he said.
For example: National Road No. 1, Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway, National Road No. 33, Sihanoukville Road and Siem Reap City Road to ensure more efficient transportation chain.
He added that the Vietnamese side has also announced plans to develop its transport infrastructure, as the trade volume between the two countries is increasing year by year.
