Phnom Penh, April 6, 2026 – Coca-Cola Cambodia Beverage Company successfully hosted a two-day Zero Riel Market, supporting more than two thousand families with essential food items and daily necessities ahead of the Khmer New Year. The events took place in Battambang on April 3 and in Banteay Meanchey on April 5, 2026.
Coca-Cola’s Zero Riel Market is a community support initiative that enables families facing financial challenges to shop for essential items at no cost, allowing them to choose what they need most during festive seasons such as the Khmer New Year.
The Zero Riel Market was made possible through the “Buy Coca-Cola to Support the Zero Riel Market” program in February 2026. With 920,000 cases sold, 500 riels per case were contributed to a community support fund, raising approximately 460 million riel (USD 115,000).
The initiative was carried out in collaboration with local partners, including DFI Lucky Private Limited in both provinces. Building on last year’s success during Pchum Ben, which supported 1,800 families, the initiative was expanded this year to benefit 2,300 families, with support tailored to their household needs.
In the spirit of Cambodian giving, each family received a 200,000 riel (approx. USD 50) voucher to purchase groceries for pagoda offerings and other festive needs, helping them prepare for the Khmer New Year with pride and joy.
Mr. Paulo Gaspar Rodrigues, CEO of Coca-Cola Cambodia Beverage Company, said, “For 33 years, Coca‑Cola has been producing its products in Cambodia. Made by Khmer hands, for Khmer people, our products are shared in moments of work, rest, and celebration across the country. The Zero Riel Market is another way we can stand alongside families in need and help our communities to thrive as they celebrate the Khmer New Year.”
“We are proud to collaborate with Coca-Cola Cambodia on an initiative that is a standout program because it respects the individual needs of every household. We appreciate Coca-Cola’s leadership in creating this platform, allowing us to use our retail expertise to support the vulnerable families,” said Mr. Charlie Bettencourt, Managing Director of DFI Lucky Private Limited.
His Excellency Sreng Hong, Deputy Governor of Battambang Provincial Administration, said: “Khmer Zero Riel Market Program represents a meaningful contribution in support of the Royal Government’s efforts to alleviate some of the hardships faced by our people, particularly those living along the border who continue to encounter daily challenges. This initiative provides families with the opportunity to select and obtain essential goods according to their needs without incurring personal expenses. On this occasion, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Coca-Cola Cambodia Beverage Company and all partners for their valuable support to the communities of Phnum Proek and Ba Ang Thom communes.”
His Excellency Khlok Noay, Deputy Governor of Banteay Meanchey Provincial Administration, said: “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Coca-Cola Cambodia Beverage Company and all partners for their valuable support to the people of Banteay Meanchey province during this challenging time. Through the $50 voucher support of Zero Riel Market, families in our communities are able to purchase essential goods they need and better prepare for the upcoming Khmer New Year with joys. We hope more companies will be inspired by Coca-Cola’s example and continue working with us to support and strengthen our communities.”
“I’m so glad that Coca-Cola has come to help us. Shopping that way is quite unique. I’m so grateful to Coca-Cola for this initiative,” said Sla Mat, a beneficiary of the program in Battambang.
“I’ve felt very happy and excited because I’ve never seen something like that before. A moment ago, I also had a chilled bottle of coke. The items we bought today would be enough for consumption for nearly a month,” said Uch Pheap, a beneficiary of the program in Banteay Meanchey.
Through this initiative, Coca-Cola Cambodia highlighted how everyday actions can contribute to meaningful social impact. The Zero Riel Market was not only about providing essential items, but also about celebrating community, care, and shared happiness.
