Cambodia’s iconic Angkor Archaeological Park welcomed 428,223 international visitors during the first seven months of 2026, generating US$20.3 million in ticket revenue.
While this represents a 30.7% decline in visitors and a 29% drop in revenue compared to the same period in 2025, Angkor remains one of Southeast Asia’s most extraordinary cultural destinations and the heart of Cambodia’s tourism industry.
Experts point to several factors behind the slowdown, including global economic uncertainty, rising travel costs driven by Middle East tensions, concerns over online scams, and the recent Cambodia–Thailand border tensions, all of which have affected international travel demand.
Despite these short-term challenges, Angkor’s timeless heritage, world-class temples, and Cambodia’s growing tourism initiatives continue to position the Kingdom as a must-visit destination for travelers worldwide.
