The construction of the first phase of Techo International Airport (IATA Code KTI), located in Kandal and Takeo provinces, has reached 75.8 percent completion as of June 1, 2024, with the project on track to be operational in the first semester of 2025. This update was provided by Sinn Chansereyvutha, Under-Secretary of State at the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA), following a site visit by senior SSCA officials, airlines’ representatives, and service provider firms on June 6. The airport project, managed by Cambodia Airport Investment Co., Ltd., is a public-private partnership involving the Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation (OCIC) with a 90 percent stake and the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation holding the remaining 10 percent. Techo International Airport, spanning 2,600 hectares and classified as a Class 4F international airport, is being constructed in three phases: Phase 1 (2020-2030), Phase 2 (2030-2050), and Phase 3 (2050 onwards).
