After the country had rescued, education systems have steadily developed, and backed up. People can go to school to get education and learn foreign languages. The country has built more than a thousand schools for students. One of the most important things you’ll need as a new foreigner in Phnom Penh is employment. Continue reading to learn about work permits, the labor market, and what kind of salary you would be able to earn to help you settle into your new life. The followings are the steps to get a proper job for you.

Seeking Suitable Position

Before you go, it’s a good idea to start looking for a workplace in Phnom Penh. The CamHR, Bong Thom Classifieds, and The Phnom Penh Post are only a few of the work posting websites in Cambodia. Facebook groups like Phnom Penh Jobs and Phnom Penh Jobs for Foreigners are other great way to find jobs in the region. You may also contact fellow expats in Phnom Penh to learn more about who is recruiting and what types of jobs are available.

You are likely to find something in Phnom Penh that fits your needs, depending on your previous work experience and the type of job you want. When looking for work in Phnom Penh, most expats take one of two paths. The first is to find work before arriving in the region. These are normally high-paying positions that are mostly located abroad, and they help you obtain a visa and work permit. The second, more popular route is to travel to Phnom Penh and look for work there. This is more time consuming and exhausting, but it also produces positive outcomes.

Expats are only working in a small number of local work sectors. NGOs, English teachers, the service sector, and businesses are the most popular.

Your pay and salary can vary depending on the company you work in. Teaching, NGO work, and service sector jobs pay on average USD800- 1,500 per month, while more lucrative business jobs pay USD1,000- 3,000 per month.

Getting a work permit

You will need to apply for a work permit from the government after you have found a job, which you can do at the local Sangkat (district government building) or via a third-party service. Working for a calendar year costs around USD100, and working for the current year costs another USD100. Details and guidelines change frequently, so keep an eye on the Cambodia job and visa community on Facebook for the most up-to-date information.

In the past, Cambodia would offer retirement visas to expats over 50 years old, allowing them to live in the country for up to three years. These visas were great for those looking to retire in Cambodia, as you could do so without becoming a Cambodian citizen, and you would not be required to purchase health insurance.

However, Cambodia no longer offers this type of visa, so you’ll need to apply for the other types of visas offered here.

Cambodia has a number of visa options for expats, and one of the most popular is the retirement visa. If you qualify, you can live in Cambodia indefinitely, and there are no age restrictions.

However, the program does have some rules, and you must be both healthy and wealthy to be considered. If you don’t meet all the requirements, you can get a visa on a single or multiple entry basis for tourism. (The visa lasts for 90 days with multiple entries allowed.)

The process for visas is pretty easy here. There’s even a special class for retirees. once you arrive within the country, check that you get the regular (E class) visa, and not a traveler visa therefore you’ll be able to get the Asian nation retirement visa.

You can apply for ER visa extensions. Below are the retirement visa requirements:

  • You must be at least 55 years old or older than 55 years’ old
  • You should be unemployed
  • You must prove that you’re retired by showing your social security documentation and having enough retirement fund statements.

Without leaving a country, there are 2 types of visa that you can be extended, which are Tourist Visa (T Visa) or Ordinary Visa (E visa).

More than this, there are 4 different types of Ordinary visa (E visa) in Cambodia, which are (EB) visa for business, (EG) visa for employment, (ER) visa for retirement, and (ES) visa for students.

If you plan to stay in Cambodia for longer than 2 months, you should get your ordinary (E) visa, which you can be extended for more than 2 months, not Tourist (T) visa.

Siem Reap is known as the city full of temples and Khmer culture. Outside of the mystifying temple tours, this northern city has a lot to offer in terms of culture, history, and wild holiday antics. Dive into cooking classes and pottery-making lessons, visit war museums to learn about the areas affected by landmines, and then mingle with other travelers at some local pubs where you can find amazing Western food and low-priced draft beer. So if you are here to find out waterfall in Siem Reap, yes this will guide you

Phnom Kulen waterfall

Phnom Kulen waterfall is located in the Phnom Kulen mountain in Siem Reap Province. It’s located 30kilometes northwards from Angkor Wat and take 1-2 hours at least. Kulen water is amazingly fresh. It’s a great way to restore yourself after working up a sweat at the other sites. If you get hungry, there are also restaurants at the top of the waterfall. They have great views and are a good option for tourists who do not wish to swim.

Kbal Spean Waterfall

Kbal Spean Waterfall is located in Khun Rum village, Khun Rrom commune, Banteay Srei district, Siem Reap province. Kbal Spean is most famous for its underwater reliefs, and the Siem Reap River that connects here runs all the way from Kbal Spean to Angkor Town and to Tonle Sap Lake. The interest in this site is a series of stone carvings in the river with waterfall. There are a lot of trees and this makes the area around Kbal Spean cool. During the wet season the jungle is lush and abundant, though the water will be running strongly and it may be hard to see the lingas. Wet season is probably the best time, the water will have receded enough to get a clear look at the lingas and the jungle will still be lush and fresh from all of the rain. The time you should avoid from Kbal Spean is hot season, the temporary will quite change and it’s hard to walk in. Kbal Spean and Phnom Kulen waterfall is located in Phnom Kulen national park.

Kbal Spean is an Angkorian era archaeological site on the southwest slopes of the Kulen Hills to the northeast of Angkor in Siem Reap. The site consists of a series of stone rock relief carvings in sandstone formations of the river bed and banks. Cambodia Time
